hynames is a Hytale profile tracking website, similar to NameMC but for Hytale. You can look up any player by username or UUID to view their profile, avatar history, and username history.

Is hynames affiliated with Hypixel Studios?

No. hynames is an independent fan project. It queries the public Hytale API to display player data but is not affiliated with or endorsed by Hypixel Studios.

What is a UUID?

A UUID (Universally Unique Identifier) is a unique identifier assigned to each Hytale profile. It is a 32-character hexadecimal string (e.g. 5ba050d3-8067-4aff-b036-7ca5d5f7cbd0) that remains constant even if the username changes.

What does each username status mean?

Available means the username is unclaimed and free to register.
Taken means it is currently in use by a Hytale profile.
Reserved means the username is locked to a specific Hytale account and only profiles owned by that account may use it.
Hytale Reserved means the username has been set aside by the Hytale team, typically for content creators or public figures, separate from the normal Reserved status.
Banned means the username is prohibited from use and cannot be registered by anyone (The username either contains a banned word, or the whole username itself is banned).

How do I change my username?

To change your username, log in to your Hytale account on the official Hytale website, navigate to your account settings, navigate to Game Profiles, press Change Username on the profile you want to change the name of, and follow the prompts to select your new username.

How often can I change my username?

If you only want to change the capitalization of your username (e.g. changing "PlayerName" to "playername"), you can do so as often as you like. However, if you want to change the actual characters in your username (e.g. changing "PlayerName" to "NewName"), you can only do this once every 30 days.

What happens to my old username when I change it?

When you change your username, your old username is reserved for you for 45 days, meaning only you can use it on any profile under your account during that time, whether that be reclaiming it on the same profile (after the 30 day cooldown) or claiming it on a different profile under your account. If it is left unused after the 45 day reservation period, the username becomes available for anyone to claim.

What makes a username "OG"?

An "OG" username is typically a short, early-claimed, or highly desirable name - often a single word, common name, or short string of characters. hynames helps you find OG usernames that are currently available or about to become available after their reservation period ends.

Why can't I find a player's profile?

If a search doesn't return results, double check the spelling of the username or UUID. hynames queries the public Hytale API directly, so if the profile doesn't exist in the API, it won't be displayed on hynames. If you believe this is an error, you can contact us through our Discord and we will investigate.

How do I report incorrect information on a profile?

hynames pulls all profile data directly from the public Hytale API, so information should reflect what's currently registered with Hytale. If something still looks incorrect, please let us know through our Discord and we'll look into it.

How accurate and up-to-date is the data on hynames?

Every search on hynames queries the public Hytale API in real-time, so the data you see is always accurate and up-to-date.

How accurate is the 3D avatar viewer?

The 3D avatar viewer on hynames uses a custom hand-made renderer that generates a 1:1 accurate model of the player's avatar based on the data provided by the Hytale API. This means that the avatar you see in the viewer is an exact representation of what the player sees in-game, with all textures and details accurately rendered.

I don't like the information displayed on my profile, can I hide it?

Yes, you can! To hide information on your profile, such as past usernames or avatars, that we have tracked, you can do so on your profile's page once you have proven ownership of the profile by claiming it. You can claim your profile by creating a hynames account and verifying that you own the Hytale profile you want to claim. Once you have claimed your profile, you will have full control over your profile settings, including the ability to hide information on your profile, and more.

How do I claim my profile?

To claim your profile, first log in to your hynames account and go to your user page. From there, press Claim Profile, which takes you to a claiming page with more information about the process. On that page, press the button to continue to Hytale's official Sign in with Hytale page. There, you'll authorize hynames to receive your profile's UUID and name, which we use to verify that you own the profile. Once verified, you'll have full control over your profile settings - including hiding past usernames or avatars, showcasing your alts, and more!

Does hynames store or track my personal data?

No. hynames does not store or track any personal data. You don't need to log in or provide any personal information to use hynames. All data displayed is publicly available through the Hytale API.

We try our best to respect your privacy and keep our website as lightweight and fast as possible. Your searches will never be publicly available for others to see, and all we store is a hashed IP address for unique visitor counting and rate limiting. We also do not use any third-party analytics or tracking services.

Does hynames work on Mac, Linux, or mobile devices?

Yes! hynames is a web-based application that works on any device with a modern web browser, including Mac, Linux, and mobile devices. You can access hynames from your desktop, laptop, tablet, or smartphone without any issues.
